• Description

This 72-year-old female patient had a small scratch on her 2nd toe caused by the neighbouring toenail. It became infected, and developed into this lesion, which was found to have been colonised by MRSA. 8 weeks’ treatment with Inadine dressings in the Rheumatoid Arthritis Hospital in Bath failed to tackle it and she was sent home, where the District Nursing service continued to treat it – without success. In December, 2003 the infection had entered the bone. Her husband bought a Dentron Biogun and began treating it for 8 minutes twice a day. This was how it looked in February, 2004.
